Hidden amongst a spectacular 30-year collection of camellias, dwarf sequoias, maples and mature trees, the property feels wonderfully private and immersed in nature from the moment you arrive.

At the heart of the home, the beautifully designed kitchen features rich Sapele timber cabinetry, Caesarstone benchtops, premium stainless steel appliances and double French doors that open seamlessly onto the alfresco dining area — perfect for long lunches, evening entertaining, or peaceful mornings surrounded by birdsong and garden views.

Wander along whimsical pathways illuminated by carefully placed accent lighting, discover sculptural features tucked amongst the trees, and admire the handcrafted rock walls built from stones collected from nearby farmlands. The property’s lower wetlands create a peaceful natural sanctuary, home to an abundance of birdlife, frogs and Southern Pygmy Perch.

The forested slopes of Mount Macedon can be seen from virtually every corner of the region, even Melbourne. Mount Macedon village sits approximately 615 metres above sea level, while further up on the summit you will reach 1001 metres elevation. The mountain is a wonderland of heritage gardens and wild bushscapes of eucalyptus, pine and tall Mountain Ash. Inviting cellar doors and soul-soothing views. Magnificent mansions and native wildlife.
The iconic Hanging Rock is only 15 minutes’ drive from Mount Macedon. It’s a similar distance to the village of Woodend, where you can enjoy live music and craft beers at Holgate Brewhouse or The Victoria Hotel. Alternatively, the historic town of Kyneton and its wonderful retail shopping and restaurant precinct is less than 25 minutes away.

Guests are required to provide ID for insurance purposes. A security bond of $500 is also due 1 day before arrival.
CCTV is operated outside of the premises for security.
The Grounds Keeper/Owner lives part-time on the property in a separate private bungalow with its own entrance.
WILDLIFE:
The abundant wildlife are used to a peaceful life and because this is their home too we ask that no pets accompany you on your stay at Tanglin.

If you’re driving to the Macedon Ranges, the Calder Freeway and major connecting roads offer easy access to the region’s nine villages, and every nook and cranny in between.
V/Line’s fast-rail service from Melbourne to Bendigo generally runs on the hour and stops at Clarkefield, Riddells Creek, Gisborne, Macedon, Woodend, Kyneton and Malmsbury. Get more information at vline.
